Big Brother Mouse - Books in Lao that Make Literacy Fun

We love Big Brother Mouse, a young and vibrant book publishing venture in Laos that makes literacy fun. Thanks to the support of TAMMACHAT customers, we donated 724 books to children in Laos in 2010 in partnership with Big Brother Mouse. Our 2011 donation has supported 3 "book parties" that have given 750 books to Lao children and schools. Two more book parties are coming.

The photos below were taken at 3 of the book parties we sponsored in rural villages with your help. Books were given to every child at primary schools in Ban Na-Lao, Ban Phng, Ban Huaiphaknau, Ban Paknern and Ban Namkhor. A box of books was left behind in each village school, with a volunteer "librarian," to serve as a lending library.
